I am an ambitious, creative and dependable student. I have recently completed the final year of my undergraduate degree in Fine Art and English Literature at Aberystwyth University. Currently, I am employed at Marks and Spencer (2/7/18-present) as a Warehouse Operative/Admin and Customer Assistant. Following my undergraduate degree, I am pursuing a Masters in Fine Art. I am consistently enthusiastic about my work and like to challenge myself mentally as well as physically. Being a keen runner, this May I ran the Race For Life 10K and raised over £200 pounds for Cancer Research. I always strive to be an efficient, friendly and knowledgable team-player in order to achieve success.

Artist’s Statement

In my most recent works, I have been analyzing and studying Turner, Ruskin, Hokusai and Hiroshige in an attempt to refine my work to paint the stark, sublime beauty of mountainous landscapes. I am studying conscientiously in order to manipulate a medium to convey suggestions, be it to portray ruthlessness or fragility of the subject, I am interested in the interplay of contradicting themes and their lingering, ghostly presence.
The ghostly – in many senses of the word – has gradually become a very animated theme in my studies while at university. From first being introduced to psychoanalysis in my Edgar Allan Poe essay in first year, to studying my favorite module in third year, Haunting Texts, the ghostly, presence, absence and structuralism has continually left me in awe. The scope of exploration, albeit massive, intrigues me; so much so, that I am currently working on a collection of essays on ghosts from the 1800s to present day alongside my painting and drawing.
